Flower Show Trips
Early March is Flower Show season and two trips are planned to major area shows. The first, a two-night trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show, ‘Articulture,’ will provide funds for the restoration of two Poultney churches, Saint John’s Episcopal and the United Baptist Church. The bus leaves Rutland at 6:30 a.m. on March 5. Tickets include bus fare, hotel, breakfast and admission to the March 6 Flower Show. Part of the price is for a charitable purpose and is tax-deductible.
On a one-day trip to the Boston Flower Show, Thursday, March 13, participants arrive in time for lunch at Quincy Marketplace before traveling on to the Seaport World Trade Center for ‘Romance in the Garden.’ Price includes transportation and entry to the show. Cost is reduced for seniors and children, and is partly a tax-deductible donation towards the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Vermont, enabling women to complete their educational goals. The small busses have 24 seats and reservations/deposits must be confirmed by February 15.
