Dr. Edward Scott recently wrote to tell a lovely story that begins with a good friend of his, Mary Reynolds, who works in physical therapy at the Vermont Veteran’s Home. One of Mary’s patients is Andy Melville, who told her he was originally from New Hampshire. Learning of this, she mentioned Dr. Scott’s sister, Sheila, who was Miss New Hampshire in 1967. Mr. Melville replied, “Everybody knows of Sheila,” who was Miss Congeniality in that year’s Miss America Pageant. He particularly remembered her coming to Korea, where he was serving, to entertain troops on a USO tour that included six other contestants from the 1967 Pageant.  When Dr. Scott heard of this, he arranged for Sheila to visit Andy Melville at the Vets’ Home. She traveled there from her residence in Adams, Mass. a few weeks ago to spend some time with the  delighted Mr. Melville. She even sang him a song – Patsy Cline’s ‘Crazy.’
