Furniture Making Class with William Laberge
Dorset furniture maker William Laberge is offering an introductory Furniture Making Class at his workshop. In the class, students will learn about furniture making techniques and bring home a cherry Shaker nightstand. William Laberge will teach students about wood selection, grain matching, design elements, safe use of machinery, mortise and tenon joinery, tapering legs, surface preparation and finishing. This is a fun way to learn some tips and techniques and come away with a piece of furniture. The class will meet from 8 to 5 on Saturday, November 9, and 8 to 4 on Sunday, November 10, in Laberge’s shop, located at 5145 Route 30 in Dorset, Vt., just north of the Mettowee Mill Nursery. The price for the class is $375 plus $75 for materials. Space is limited.
