Gourmet Basket Raffle to Benefit Southshire School
Students of Southshire Community School in North Bennington and their families are raffling off a Thanksgiving feast fit for a king – and his many subjects. This is no ordinary Thanksgiving raffle. Two antique fruit crates will be filled with two large, organic, free range, hormone-free, pasture-raised turkeys from Nichol’s Poultry Farm in Hancock, Mass. and homegrown or homemade items donated by Southshire families, to ensure an old-fashioned holiday experience. Past years’ delectables have included fresh garden vegetables, popcorn, homemade jams, jellies and chutneys, homemade pies and breads, wine and more. Even the tablecloth, flowers, pot holder and dish towels are included.
Tickets for this amazing banquet are just $5 each, or three for $10. Two baskets mean two chances to win; the drawing will be held Friday, November 22; the winner will be notified that day. Tickets may be obtained from any Southshire family, by calling Southshire Community School at 802-442-4601, emailing [email protected], mailing to P.O. Box 865, North Bennington, Vermont or visiting the school at 24 Bank Street in North Bennington. Proceeds from this raffle are earmarked for a new fence for the school, which will keep students safer on the driveway. Enjoy the bounty of the season – Happy Thanksgiving!
