Grafton Fall Foilage Tag Sale to Benefit Firefighters
Among the special events that people look forward to during Columbus Day Weekend is the Grafton, Vt., Firefighters’ Fall Foliage Festival. This year’s event takes place October 12, 9 to 3, and October 13, 9 to 1.
The festival features a widely anticipated tag sale with a
huge variety of quality items, including furniture, toys, linens, books, recordings, jewelry, housewares, small appliances and more. Fire engines and rescue equipment will be on display, and firefighters will be on hand to answer questions.
The sale is a major fundraiser for the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department, and draws a lot of community support, with donated merchandise and enthusiastic buyers.
Joining with the firefighters will be the Grafton Elementary School Parent Teachers Group, who will offer hot coffee and pastries,
barbecued hamburgers, hotdogs and other food specialties.
The Grafton Firefighters Festival will take place at the Firehouse, 711 Route 121, just east of Grafton Village, Vt. and will be on. Shoppers often return for the second day when most everything is sold for half price.
