Growing and Eating Nutrient-Rich Crops
Dan Kittredge, lifelong farmer and Executive Director of the Bionutrient Food Association, is offering a two-session workshop on growing nutrient-rich crops on Wednesday, November 13, and Wednesday, March 5, from 9:30 to 4:30. This lecture is geared to farmers, gardeners and anyone who wants to know how to grow – and eat – good, quality food.
Quality is the focus; from 1975 to 2010, average nutritional values of foods have steadily declined. For example, broccoli has 54 percenet less calcium, cauliflower and daikon no longer have any Vitamin A, and collard greens have 81 percent less iron.
The fee for both days is $150, with scholarships available for farmers.
