The women of the Second Congregational Church in Bennington and the Federated Church of East Arlington and their friends made a beautiful hand-crafted quilt and donated it to Bennington Area Habitat for Humanity. Raffle tickets were sold as a fundraiser; the winner was Dottie Sundquist of Sandgate. Sundquist, the wife of Bryan Richheimer, one of Habitat’s core volunteers, was thrilled with her prize, stated Ruth Stewart, chair of the organization’s Shires ReSale Store at 51 Memorial Avenue in Manchester. Proceeds from the store are devoted to the work of Bennington Area Habitat for Humanity. The Store is open Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed Thanksgiving Day.) Partners are sought for homes to be built in Bennington and in Manchester next spring. For information, visit benningtonareahabitat.com or call 802-367-1000.
