The Harrison Gallery, 39 Spring Street in Williamstown, Mass., will be presenting a show featuring paintings by artists Carol Gobin and Gail Sauter, beginning on Saturday, May 3 with a free opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m., and running until Friday, May 30.

Gobin came to landscape painting after extensive study in house building, architectural drafting, graphic design and visual arts. She spent 15 years as a commercial artist before taking up painting. Not surprisingly, her paintings focus on the architectural details of old barns and landscapes.

Sauter has had numerous national and international exhibits. Intrigued by memories, it is in her work that she seeks not to depict what she is seeing, but instead, the after-image that stays with her. Her paintings convey time and place with a strong impact that recreates the experience of being present in that moment.

The Harrison Gallery is located at 39 Spring Street in Williamstown, Mass. For further information, call 413-458-1700 or visit theharrisongallery.com.
