Hills Alive! Festival Opens
Five weeks of stage productions, concerts, play readings, films and lectures are set to begin on Friday, June 27, as part of the third annual Hills Alive! Festival of the Performing Arts in southern Vermont. More than 100 events are planned. Festival goers can attend the world premieres of ‘Analog and Vinyl,’ a new musical by Paul Gordon at the Weston Playhouse; concerts featured in the 40th anniversary season of the Manchester Music Festival; and the toe-tapping melodies by Straus, Delibes and Gershwin at ‘Let’s Dance’ with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. New this year is an outdoor ticket information booth, open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the patio of Spiral Scoops on Route 30 in Manchester, Vt. beginning on Friday, June 27. Special thanks to Festival supporter Bill Drunsic for this initiative and to rk Miles for the building materials donation. Patrons using the booth will receive $5 off the regular ticket price for every event. Visit hillsalive.org for a schedule of events, or stop in at the Manchester and Mountains Chamber of Commerce office at 39 Bonnet Street before the Spiral Scoops booth opens.
