Hoosick Falls to Host Walter A. Wood Tractor & Agriculture Show
Antique and vintage tractors, horse-drawn farm equipment and implements, and contemporary machinery will be on display in Walter A. Wood Park in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., on Saturday, October 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The third annual Walter A. Wood Tractor and Agriculture Show celebrates the Walter A. Wood Reaping and Mowing Company, which made horse-drawn farm equipment in Hoosick Falls from 1865 to 1924. The company sold its machinery to farmers locally, and as far away as the Middle East and Russia. Wood’s company made Hoosick Falls a boomtown in the 19th century – so big that it became the largest village in the United States. The event will also feature a parade, kicking off at 10 a.m., along with hay rides, pumpkins and gourds for sale and live music.
