Izhar Patkin Opens at Mass MoCa
‘Izhar Patkin: The Wandering Veil’ is a long-awaited survey of works by the Israeli-born, New York-based artist Izhar Patkin. An opening reception with the artist will take place on Saturday, January 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. The exhibition focuses on the last decade of Patkin’s production, but includes keystone works from throughout his 30-year career. The show highlights formal and technical innovations pioneered by Patkin, who works with an extraordinary range of materials and images. The exhibition’s centerpiece is a cycle of spectacular new mural-size paintings on gossamer tulle, which have never before been shown in the United States.
