Kidspace at MassMoca Offers an Alternative for Winter Break

Winter break is coming, but Kidspace at MASS MoCA will be in session with our December Break for Art, four days of art-making activities on Thursday and Friday, December 26 and 27, at 10 a.m. and Monday and Tuesday, December 30 and 31, at 10 a.m. Take a break from sledding and building snow-people and warm up with some feverish creativity and a lot of fun. On December 26 and 27, Kidspace hosts the One-Minute Art-Making Festival, where kids will make 15 art projects for 60 seconds each, in tribute to our One Minute Film Festival exhibition. Each activity will be timed, and children will have to work on their own, as well as with partners, to create artworks using a range of materials. On December 30 and 31 close out the year with our Rockin’ Art Countdown. Art-making materials will include, but are not limited to, Jell-O, shaving cream, kinetic sculptures and recycled materials.

Parents are encouraged to join their children for all of the December Break for Art classes, but it is not required. Tickets are $5 for members and $7 for not-yet-members. Tickets are available through the MASS MoCA box office, Marshall Street in North Adams, Mass., at 413-662-2111or massmoca.org.
