Kittay Library Kid’s Programs
The Rupert Kittay Library will be hosting an open house to celebrate the artwork of fourth gradersfrom Mettawee Community School on Saturday, June11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.Under the direction of artteacher Amy Helmetag,students completed a variety of art projects throughout the school year, using a variety of materials to develop their drawing skills and crativity. Represented in this show are watercolor maps of imaginary islands, pop-up landscapes of the Oregon Trail, paintings of sunflowers and winter landscape prints made from textured collages. The exhibit will continue through the months of June and July during library hours: Tuesday 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m. The Kittay Library is located at 2827 Route 153 in Rupert.
Rupert Kittay Library’s 2016 Vermont Summer Reading Program for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade will be held Monday to Thursday starting July 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Children will be divided into age-appropriate groups facilitated by Kim Perkins and Kelly Lewis. The free program will include mini Olympic sports activities, stories, games and crafts and is open to Rupert residents and those of nearby communities. Pre-registration is requested at 802-394-2444.
