Knickerbocker Harvest Festival
The Knickerbocker Mansion’s Harvest Festival will be held September 21 to 22, 8 to 4.
There will be a pancake breakfast for $6, from 8 to 11, and a chicken and biscuit dinner for $10, 12 to 4. No reservations are needed except for 8 or more.
Paul Stillman of ‘Historically Speaking’ will play the role of a Civil War soldier at 11, 1 and 3. There will also be an encampment of Colonel Knickerbocker’s 14th Albany Militia. There will be mansion and cemetery tours, a bake sale, Charlotte’s Chop and Snack Bar. Harvest produce will be available throughout the day.
The Hudson River Ramble Devil’s Chimney Walk will start at 10. The Devil’s Chimney Walk is a 4.2 mile round-trip hike through Schaghticoke’s historic Vale of Peace, the site of an historic Native American village and first Schaghticoke settlement, then along the Hoosick River to a Native American shrine named Devil’s Chimney. During the hike the guide will point out historic sites and geographic features. Hiking boots are required.
