Manchester Car Show: Free for All!
The 30th anniversary of the annual Manchester Antique and Classic Car Show will be held this year on Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12. Beginning as a ‘dust off’ showin 1986, the event quickly became a ‘must’ on the calendars of car enthusiasts. This year will be no exception, with cars coming from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Connecticut. Show organizers anticipate upwards of 350 cars and over 100 vendors in the flea market. The show will bring together cars – imports and domestics of all makes, all models – all free, thanks to the generous sponsorship of host Donald Dorr of Dorr Oil Company. The show takes place on his spectacular farm on Route 30, one mile north of Manchester, a perfect setting for a car show with its lush green space and quintessential red barn.
The exhibition field will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Registration for cars and flea market vendors will open at 7 a.m. both days.
The two-day show features car trivia, a poker run, 50/50 raffles, a very popular car parade through the main streets of Manchester, and the fifth annual tailgate competition. A cocktail reception will be held at The Barrows House in Dorset and on Saturday night, a barn dance will take place at the Dorr Farm.
Winner of the Best In Show Award will be given a special 30th Anniversary Trophy during the 2 p.m. awards ceremony on Sunday. Additional awards are the Founders Award judged by the family of show founder, Oscar Johnson, and the Linda Spence Award for the car judged the best work in progress by the family of Linda Spence, along with prizes for the Best of the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s and a club participation award.
Flea market vendors and great food offered by local vendors round out this great family event.
It’s all free – to cars, vendors and spectators. To register, go to manchestercarshow.com or call 802-362-2100 to learn more..
