Manchester Riverwalk Work Day
This spring, consulting with the Vermont Council on Rural Development, residents of Manchester chose to build a task force to redevelop the riverside and open a Riverwalk; now we are inviting everyone to help extend the project that Transition Town Manchester started in 2010 with the creation of a path on the town green side of the river, as well as making the path starting behind the old bowling alley more visible. On Sunday, September 22, from 10 to 2, we will meet at the town green to form crews to clean up debris and cut brush along the river, and build a 30-foot boardwalk in one spot. Mostly, we will be starting to make use of this great spot in the heart of town, and letting people know that we are moving forward. It will be a fun day! Bring gloves, work clothes, bug spray and water bottles, and come on down to help out.
