The second annual Riverwalk Party will be held on Sunday, October 29, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Helmholz Fine Art Gallery.  Help the volunteers of Manchester Riverwalk toast the work they have been doing and hear about their plans for the coming year. There will be a brief presentation of the group’s progress, including the installation of an historic marble mill turbine along the pathway. Enjoy local food and drink, music and conversation. Families are welcome.

According to the group’s website, the Riverwalk’s centerpiece will be an arched bridge spanning the river from the Factory Point Town Green on Depot Street to just behind the old Factory Point Bank building on Main Street, offering pedestrians a way to get to businesses and restaurants on either side, away from downtown cars and traffic. Smaller bridges are also planned at the river level to join the series of woodland paths already there. Community members are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Helmholz Fine Art is located at 442 Depot Street in Manchester Center, next to Ben & Jerry’s. Manchester Riverwalk is a nonprofit organization with a mission to build, beautify, and maintain public pathways along the West Branch of the Battenkill in Manchester.
