Manchester’s Earth Sky Time Farm Opens Concert Series
Earth Sky Time Farm, 1547 Main Street/Route 7A, Manchester, welcomes the community to the first of their 2018 on-farm concerts on Sunday, May 27, at 5 p.m. Burlington-based rockers Barika will be headlining. The Earth Sky Time double-decker Bread Bus will be fired up, and the crew will be slinging wood-fired pizza with farm-fresh toppings. Beer, wine and kombucha will be available, too. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/farmers; kids are free. Barika’s deep grooves are built around frontman Craig Myers (Rubblebucket, and Phish bassist Mike Gordon’s band) on the kamele n’goni, a stringed instrument from Mali. The opening band, Satyrdagg, is a funk fusion, world music, neo-soul mashup featuring soaring improvisation. Both bands promise to get everyone dancing right into the growing season! Upcoming shows include the 12-piece Venezuelan percussion ensemble Betsayda Machado on June 21; the Haitian street music collective, Lakou Mizik, on July 7; Mokoombo, afropop from Zimbabwe, on July 21; and Spirit Family Reunion on August 5.
