Memory Café in Bennington
The Bennington County Memory Café meets , from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on the last Saturday of each month – every month – at the Bennington Free Library on Silver Street in Bennington.
What is a memory café? It is a social gathering where those who are experiencing memory loss and their care partners can come together to connect and support each another in a relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere. Participants will enjoy social time and refreshments, music and art, and games and activities. The Memory Café offers a time and a place where people can interact, laugh, cry, find support, share concerns and celebrate their lives without feeling embarrassed or misunderstood. If you want to attend, just show up; pre-registration is not required.
This special program is appropriate for persons with mild cognitive impairment, early stage Alzheimer’s/dementia or just memory concerns. Caregivers and loved ones are also encouraged to attend. (This is not a program for those with late-stage Alzheimer’s/dementia.)
The Memory Cafés is a volunteer-run program; we are always seeking volunteers to help. If Interested, contact Aaron Brush at 802-772-7835 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
