and Fiona Langan invite you to Swing into Spring.

This spring marks the celebration of one of the most significant fundraising events for Manchester Elementary and Middle School (MEMS). On Friday, May 9, the Friends Foundations for MEMS is hosting its annual fundraising gala from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Yester House at the Southern Vermont Arts Center.

With the theme ‘Swing Into Spring,’ the event will offer an eclectic mix of live music by bluesman Bob Stannard and MEMS parents, raffle items from local businesses, hearty hors d’oeuvres and and drinks. Funds raised will go directly to enhancing student learning in Spanish and math; early literacy; access to technologies that connect kids to a global world; ongoing performing arts programs; and enrichment opportunities in and out of the classroom.

The Friends Foundation for MEMS is a non-profit organization based on the idea our commitment to public education shouldn’t end when the property tax bill is paid. Since it was founded in 2002, we have raised $1.3 million for educational opportunities that reach beyond the traditional four walls of a classroom, and the limits of the taxpayer-supported budget. The Swing Into Spring fundraiser is $50 per person in advance and $60 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance at MEMS front office or at Bill Drunsic’s office. For information, contact Bill Drunsic at 802-362-1516 or via email at [email protected]
