“The Islands of Madura and Bali are part of which country?” Still thinking? Mettawee Community School fifth grader Ben Park knew the answer, “Indonesia”, and that brought him the win in the 2014 National Geographic school level Geography Bee held at the Mettawee Community School in West Pawlet on Tuesday, January 14. The National Geographic Geography Bee is a competition open to students in grades four through eight. At Mettawee, nearly sixty of the fourth, fifth and sixth graders competed in the classroom rounds. The top finishers from those rounds went on to compete in Mettawee’s Final Round.”

Ben Park placed first, and will be going to the state level Geo Bee scheduled for Friday, April 4, at Middlebury College.
