Arlington Workshop to Look at Managing Invasive Barberry
Learn how to manage the invasive plant barberry at a workshop hosted by the Bennington County Conservation District on Wednesday, July 27. It will be held at the Arlington Recreational Park in the Route 313 parking lot at 6 p.m. The brief workshop will be followed by a barberry pull with volunteers from Trout Unlimited and the Batten Kill Watershed Comprehensive Invasive Species Management Association. Be Brave & Pick Berries
Join Be Brave for Life at Wildwood Berry Farm on Wednesday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and help those who have been diagnosed with brain tumors. For every pound you pick, Wildwood will donate 50 cents in support of Be Brave for Life’s mission to inform, support and improve the lives of individuals affected by benign, but life-changing, brain tumors. Green Mountain Academy will host a skin lotion workshop with herbalist Danielle Laberge on Sunday, July 24, from 1 o 3 p.m. The workshop will take place at the Laberge Barn in Dorset. Commercial skin lotions all contain preservatives, which can be irritating, or alcohol, which can be drying, so the homemade approach to lotions is a fresh alternative. Learn an easy recipe you can make in your kitchen in ten minutes and enjoy for several weeks. Preregistration is required and costs $20. SudSSpirit Bereavement Support Group will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at the Bennington Free Library. The group is for those that are survivors of the sudden unexpected death of their spouse or significant other. No registration is required and it is free.
