Medicare Information Session

On Wednesday, August 3, from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., Stephanie Ball of the Washington County Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) will be at the Cambridge Public Library to conduct an informational session on Medicare  She will also cover other services that the ADRC offers, including caregiver support, case management services, health insurance counseling and information, in-home services, legal services, lifeline emergency response, outreach and transportation services. Healthier Living Workshop

Meet Kathy Dockum, regional coordinator for Vermont Blueprint for Health, who will introduce the healthier living workshops offered locally through Southwestern Vermont Health Care. Bereavement Support

SudSSpirit Bereavement Support Group will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at the Bennington Free Library. Learn ASL

Missy Boothroyd, a deaf independence peer advocate counselor will give a free presentation from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bennington at 108 School Street. come hear about the Deaf Rights Movement and learn the basics of American Sign Language. Learn About Lyme Disease

Pat Smith of the Lyme Disease Association (LDA), will discuss the tick-borne infection with a Q & A session to follow, on Saturday, August 6, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Manchester Community Library. The program is sponsored and hosted by the Rotary Club of Manchester. Smith is in her 19th year as president of the volunteer-run, national non-profit. LDA is dedicated to Lyme disease education, prevention, research funding and patient support. Smith is a member of Columbia University’s Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases Research Center advisory committee, where she has led the effort to raise funds for research. She has organized many continuing medical education accredited Lyme scientific conferences for doctors and researchers and has spoken at hundreds of public, school, business and government events.
