MLK Candlelight Vigil & Discussion
The Greater Bennington Peace and Justice Center, together with the Greater Bennington Interfaith Council, will hold their annual Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday event at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 21, at the Second Congregation Church, 115 Hillside Street, Bennington. The event will begin with a Candlelight Vigil outdoors in the courtyard to be followed by hot cider, cookies and fellowship inside the church. The program honoring the legacy King will focus on bridging the widening gap in our nation. Share plans for action steps involved in Mediation Skills training and enjoy a book reading and discussion on ‘Difficult Conversations’ to learn how to have conversations with those with whom we may differ. The community intervention program Better Angels will be also be introduced and the utilization of Peace Circles will be explored.
