Mountain Towns Dine-Around This Summer to Aid LAHS
The Londonderry Arts and Historical Society has been busy planning a unique summer event to help fund the maintenance of its gallery space, archives and buildings. The first annual Mountain Towns Dine-Around will be held on Friday, July 19. This festive gallivant will begin with cocktails at the Custer Sharp House at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at one of 20 area homes. Many of these homes have historic importance to Londonderry. According to LAHS president Annie Campbell, the Dine-Around is a different kind of community event for Londonderry. “We hope to bring lots of community members together to celebrate Londonderry and our history,” she says. The Londonderry Arts and Historical Society has made many improvements to its buildings, gallery space and archives, and hopes to raise $20,000 this year to offset the cost of operations and management, which are not covered by its membership contributions.
