Mozart’s Viola Quintets Examined at Hubbard Hall

Did you know that the viola was Mozart’s instrument of choice? On Sunday, March 16, at 4 p.m., Hubbard Hall will present the Music from Salem Listening Club on Mozart’s Viola quintets, led by artistic director Lila Brown. Using live demonstration and recordings, Brown will guide listeners through the five glorious masterworks Mozart wrote for string quintet with two violas, from the tragic Quintet in G minor, to the golden concertante-style C major and the virtuosic, brilliant Quintet in E flat. Join us for a musical discussion of these radiant works; no musical background is necessary. Hubbard Hall Center for the Arts is located at 25 East Main Street in Cambridge, N.Y.  For tickets or information, visit hubbardhall.org or call 518-677-2495.
