Music Turns Heartbreak into Hope

Castleton College in Castelton, Vt. is proud to present the fourth annual Beat It! benefit concert, featuring a cappella groups Vocal Unrest and Divisi Friday, on Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m. in the Casella Theater of the College’s Fine Arts Center. The diverse repertoire that is sure to delight audiences both young and old, offering 20th century standards as well as new arrangements of today’s pop hits. The concert is designed to raise funds for cancer research, and is the labor of love of Jessica Pierpont, a Castleton music major, whose father Richard passed away in 2010 from multiple myeloma. Funds will go towards the American Cancer Society and the Be the Match Foundation, which links potential bone marrow donors to those in need of transplants. Tickets, at the door,  are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 and up, and $5 for students; children 12 and under are free.  Advance sales are not available for this event.
