Nat’l Theatre Live: ‘Skylight’
National Theatre Live, the best of British theatre broadcast to cinemas around the world, comes to Burr and Burton Academy’s Riley Center for the Arts on Saturday, September 26, at 7 p.m., when Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning offers the encore screening of David Hare’s ‘Skylight’ with Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan, which opened in London in 2014 and transferred to Broadway last year where it was nominated for seven 2015 Tony Awards. On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Mulligan) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Nighy), a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died. As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.
