Naturalist to Discuss Vermont’s Citizen Science Project

Nathaniel Sharp, naturalist with the Vermont Center of Ecostudies, will discuss Citizen Science in a free presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15. Whether you love watching your bird feeders, hiking the mountains of Vermont, or simply wandering in forests and fields, there is a citizen science project for you! Vermont is leading the charge, with projects like Vermont eBird, the Vermont Atlas of Life on iNaturalist, eButterfly and Mountain Birdwatch, gathering valuable biodiversity data thanks to the help of nature enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. This presentation at the Maclure Library on the corner of Route 7 and Arch Street in Pittsford will provide an introduction to these projects, including information on what they are, what we have learned from them and how you can contribute. To learn more, call 802-483-2072 or visit maclurelibrary.org.
