Ned Reade Solo Show in Salem
Artist Ned Reade has been chosen for a solo exhibition, ‘Celebrating Rural Everyday Scenes,’ at the Historic Salem Courthouse Community Center in Salem, N.Y. The exhibit will be on view through July 5. A free opening reception with the artist will be held on Friday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. This show is the second of five installments in the Courthouse’s 2019 Great Hall Art Exhibit series, this year focused on expanding genres and showcasing local food vendors at the opening receptions. Reade teaches a watercolor workshop on Martha’s Vineyard and one at the Southern Vermont Art Center each summer, and enjoys painting on location on the East Coast and in Europe. His work can be seen in galleries around New England. Reade has been chairperson of the art department at Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, N.Y. for over 40 years. The Courthouse is located at 58 East Broadway in Salem, N.Y. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
