New Director, Programs at Rink
Riley Rink at Hunter Park is implementing many new programs this year, as well as maintaining current popular programs, which will be overseen by the new skating director, Martina Grattan. Grattan comes from a highly experienced background and is certified and accredited through US Figure Skating Association and the Ice Skating Institute as a skating teacher/coach as well as a judge. Her background includes, most recently, work with the Bear Mountain Ice Rink in Bear Mountain, N.Y. She also has event and competition coordinating experience at many other well-known rinks including Rye Playland Ice Casino and Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink. Grattan is enthusiastic about her new role at Riley Rink.
The NSA is a progressive, goal orientated skating program that offers classes and lessons to all ages and levels every day of the week. Children ages three to five years will be able to skate in our mid-week morning classes. ‘Parent and Me’ and adult classes will also be available during that time. On Monday nights at 5 p.m., power skating instructor Jon Larson will be offering an on-ice conditioning class for proficient skaters. It promises to be a great cardio workout and lots of fun! On weekends, more basic instruction will be available. Senior Skate and Skate Cafe classes can be shared with friends on Mondays and Wednesdays.
