New Library Construction on Track
Betsy Bleakie, Executive Director for Mark Skinner Library: Manchester’s Public Library reports that the construction of the library’s new building is moving along nicely.
Wood trusses to frame the roof have been installed; a concrete slab has been poured for the community room, reading room, collection stack area and basement, so that the framing can be installed for these areas. The intersection at the new location has been reconfigured for safer traffic flow.
The project is on track to be finished by Thanksgiving of this year; and the new space will be fully operational a year from now, in September 2014.
