Norshaft Lions Annual Oktoberfest Sure to Be a ‘Barrel of Fun’
It’s that time of year again for the annual Norshaft Lions Oktoberfest, which takes place in the spectacular autumn setting of Bennington’s historic Colgate Park. Held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, this year’s Oktoberfest will feature food, drink, activities and live entertainment for the whole family. The Rymanowski Brothers are appearing live for their seventh time at the annual fundraising event, and will keep you dancing and singing along all afternoon. There will also be music by an authentic German one-man-band. There’s going to be a giant beer tent with plenty of specialty beverages, including fall brews on tap and a great selection of wines, accompanied by traditional Oktoberfest delicacies like bratwurst, knockwurst, Wiener schnitzel, stuffed cabbage, pierogi and more. The arts and crafts tent will host vendors offering an array of local Vermont products. Family activities include hayrides and face-painting. A new addition this year – a daring sky drop, weather permitting! You may even get a chance to win your own skydiving opportunity with a professional skydiver. Admission is only $5 per person; children under age 12 are free. Colgate Park is located on Route 9 West in Bennington. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to local causes and other charities. For more information, call 845-641-6007 or check out Bennington Oktoberfest on Facebook.
