Northshire Grows to Hold Second Forum
This January, 45 area farms, growers, producers, value-added manufacturers, school and college nutrition directors and local food buyers gathered in Manchester to learn about institutional markets and how to participate in them. Northshire Grows is focusing on developing and shepherding these relationships in our region and were thrilled at the success of their first Food Shed Forum.
There will be another opportunity to meet on Tuesday, March 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Gringo Jack’s in Manchester. Please come (again), bring your questions and be ready to learn from representatives from NOFA-VT, Food Connects and RAFFL, who will be on hand to talk about market development goals and hurdles. Local restaurants, hotel kitchens and recreational facility directors, new growers and producers are invited to attend. Invite folks who you think would be interested in this networking, matchmaking, totally fun event!
Why another Forum now? Some of our region’s growers and buyers weren’t able to make it in January and it takes a while to foster productive business relationships. There will be new folks to meet and the opportunity to deepen connections with those who you may already know. Register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be sending you a short survey next week to help us customize the Forum’s agenda to your needs. We are also keeping track of who is attending and the connections made to learn what helps grow our local Northshire economy. If you have any questions you can call or text at 802-379-4013.
