Not Your Average Dog Show
Once again, Berkshire Humane Society (BHS) will be supporting this year’s Not Your Average Dog Show on Sunday, February 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Berkshire Community College’s Paterson Field House. This family-oriented afternoon, sponsored by the Berkshire Community College Foundation, is open to all purebred and mixed breed dogs, and is free for both human and canine spectators. This year’s schedule of fun classes includes Best Smile, Fastest Wagger, Best Trick, Earresistable Ears and, of course, the favorite – Mystery Mutt. Children of all ages are also invited to take part in the Kids’ Agility Competition, where they’ll race through, over and around a series of obstacles. Besides staffing a table with BHS merchandise and other special dog goodies, instructors from BHS’s Family Dog School will offer an opportunity for dogs to participate in Nose Work, a fun search and scent activity.
Before Wednesday, February 5, 2014, the pre-registration fee is $15, and entitles you to enter your dog into two classes. Each additional dog is just $10. After February 5, and through the day of show, the registration fee is $20. Registration forms are available at berkshirecc.edu/dogshow, or can be picked up at BHS and other locations.
All proceeds from this annual fundraising event will benefit the Berkshire Community College Foundation’s Annual Fund. For more information, contact Ann Phillips at [email protected] or 413-236-2185.
