October is Fire Prevention Month
While we have had an unusually warm month, the Dorset Fire District #1 reminds all residents that cold weather is approaching. Please remember to replace batteries in all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke alarms should be replaced after 10 years; CO alarms every three to five years. Furnaces, fireplaces and related chimneys need to be cleaned and inspected. Finally, please make sure all oily rags are stored properly. Dorset Fire District #1 has an immediate need for volunteer firefighters. For more information, contact Fire Chief Shawn Hazelton at 802-375-4233 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
