Ordinary Heroes Day Festival
The Shaftsbury Historical Society invites everyone to its first annual Ordinary Heroes Day Festival, to be held at the Historic 1785 Governor Galusha homestead, located along the scenic Shires By-Way (Route 7A) at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13. The event kicks off with historical tours, displays, refreshments and a formal reception. The festival will culminate with the announcement of Shaftsbury’s 2014 Ordinary Hero. This honoree has been selected as a resident who personifies Shaftsbury’s civic pride through their passion for our communal history, shared values and personal efforts to enhance the well-being of the residents of Shaftsbury, Vt. The Historical Society honors an individual each year, as there are many Ordinary Heroes among us. For additional information, please contact Mitch Race, president at 802-375-2776.
