On Wednesday, January 24, the day started with -17 temperatures, but that didn’t deter a group of ten Orvis employees who volunteered to paint the interior walls and prep window trim in the two homes that Habitat for Humanity is building on Jennifer Lane. They did a great job. Orvis is a long-term supporter of Habitat’s work in Bennington County; last fall, they contributed $2,000 to purchase building supplies. In addition, Orvis employees Eric Green and Matt Bykowski assisted with website design and resource development. Habitat’s board president, Monica Knorr, said, “We are very grateful to Orvis for their strong commitment to the community and support of Habitat, in particular.” Orvis also participates in river conservation and restoration projects.
