OWCC to Host Special Camps
Many individuals and families with autism are unable to participate in social settings, making it difficult to join typical camps. Camp Connect at One World Conservation Center (OWCC) offers visual scheduling and step-by-step instruction for all ages. There are three Thursday sessions, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 14, 21 and 28. Camp Mentor and Me is open to youths in grades 4 to 8 with a need for positive mentorship who would benefit from a supportive camp focusing on environmental stewardship and social skill building. Participants will connect to the natural world through exploration, overcoming barriers with individualized support while enjoying outdoor activities. Three sessions will be held on Thursdays, August 4, 11 and 18. OWCC is located on Route 7 in Bennington. Call Michael Stern at 802-447-7419 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
