‘Passport to the World,’ is BBA’s Spring Gala Theme
The Burr and Burton Academy Parent Association is pleased to announce that plans are underway for this year’s annual fundraising gala, ‘Passport to the World,’ to be held on Friday, May 23, at Hildene.
An exciting new development is one-of-a-kind live auction item graciously donated by Wendy and Barry Rowland – a one week trip for six people on Le Papillon Hotel Barge in France. Have you ever been cruising on the tranquil waterways of rural France? If not, and you’re the lucky winning bidder on this item, you are in for a real treat. This all-inclusive package (except airfare) includes pick up in Paris, transportation to and from the barge, all food meticulously prepared from locally-sourced ingredients, fabulous wines paired with lunch and dinner and daily personalized tours of the area. The first-class service delivered by the friendly barge staff is unforgettable, and they pay close attention to every detail, right down to an evening chocolate treat on your pillow. The winner will select a week based on availability for the summer or fall of 2014, or may look farther ahead to the 2015 sailing season. Check out their web site, hotelbarge.com, for more details.
Parents Gina Vickers and Robin Apps are leading the capable and enthusiastic committee and the evening promises to be a fun-filled night of international food and drink, student entertainment, an exciting live auction, culminating with the energetic music of the Don’t Leave Band enticing you out onto the dance floor.
Make sure May 23 is on your calendar because the event has sold out quickly in the past two years. For more information, please call Cynthia Gubb at Burr and Burton Academy at 802-549-8201 or email her at [email protected]
