Pawlet Square Dance

The Pawlet Public Library is hosting a free square dance for all ages and skill levels at the Mettawee Community School, 5788 Route 153, West Pawlet, on Saturday, May 18, from 7 to 10 p.m. The event features Ole Time Country, a three- piece band led by Dan Breen, who specialize in performing traditional square dance and classic country music, along with caller Ron Bailey. Come dance, meet your neighbors, or just enjoy the music. (This is a no-alcohol venue.) “This is the first of our Vermont Life Skill Share Series,” says Library director Mary Lou Willits. “We hope to bring people together to share time-honored skills and activities that are part of the Vermont tradition. Future skill sharing programs will be fishing on June 8, canning fruit on August 10, and stacking wood on October 19.” To view the Library’s public programs through December and its roster of children’s programs, visit pawletpubliclibrary.wordpress.com, or stop by to pick up a printed brochure. The Library is located at 141 School Street in Pawlet. For more information, call 802-325-3123.
