Peanut Butter and Jam Slam
The goal for Bennington County’s second annual Peanut Butter and Jam Slam is to collect 2,000 jars of peanut butter and jelly to replenish the shelves at area food cupboards, including BROC, The Kitchen Cupboard, HIS Pantry, the Arlington Food Shelf and the Community Food Cupboard in Manchester. Peanut butter is among one of the more expensive foods for food shelves to purchase in large quantities; it is rarely donated, but very much in demand. Last year’s event gathered 1837 jars, made possible with the support of over 30 organizations and businesses hosting collection boxes. You can drop your donations of at the Vermont News Guide unitl Friday, March 30, or visit unitedwaysvtbennington.org/pbjslam to find a location near you. Spread the word!
