The snow is nearly gone, temperatures are slowly rising and Pingree Park is almost ready for action. David Chaves Excavating donated all the labor and material to grade the playground site and improve drainage. The Community Build of the new playground, to be supervised by two representatives from Ultiplay Parks and Playgrounds, is set for Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31; volunteers are needed. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Work will begin at 7 a.m., but any amount of time that people can offer is appreciated. Volunteers are encouraged to bring shovels, rakes, work gloves and wheelbarrows. If you can help, call 802-824-3356 or email [email protected] The gates to Pingree Park will be open after mud season is over.

A unique fund raising opportunity has just been announced for the Pingree Park Revitalization Project. Felicity Haselton has been teaching Bellyfit classes in the community for the last several months. She was just given permission to use the Old Town Hall building on Middletown Road in South Londonderry, Vt. for classes two days a week. Classes will be held Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m., starting on Wednesday, May 7. Classes for the month of May will be by donation: all funds collected will go directly to the Pingree Park Revitalization fund. Consider coming to a class to help support the improvements at Pingree Park. For more information about Belly fit please email [email protected]
