Wardsboro Plant Sale

The Friends of the Wardsboro Library is sponsoring its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will take place at 170 Main Street in front of the Wardsboro Library, and on the Town Common at Route 100 and Main Street. Hearty perennials donated by local gardeners, favorite annuals, shrubs, herbs, Gilfeather turnip and assorted vegetable seedlings will all be reasonably priced for the one-day sale. Vermont Extension Master Gardeners will staff an information table and answer gardening questions from visitors. A raffle will feature a hand-crafted bird house, a hanging basket and more garden-related items. Winning tickets are drawn at 1 p.m.; winners need not be present. Admission and parking are free at this annual fundraiser for the Library, held rain or shine.

The Friends are again sponsoring their annual raffle featuring a handmade quilt, on display at the sale and at their website, friendsofwardsborolibrary.org. The winning ticket will be drawn at the 14th annual Gilfeather Turnip Festival in October. A Bake Sale will be held on the Town Common sponsored by the Wardsboro Library trustees.
