Poultney High School students Libby Marcy, Caylin Gloss, Sarah Coker, Eleanor Dailey, Connor Hill and Alexis Hill attended the Northeast Music Festival in Lake Placid, N.Y., from Thursday, November 21 through Sunday, November 24. The students, who were nominated and auditioned for a placement in the ensemble, worked under the direction of David Myers, Vermont National Guard Band Director, and prepared six challenging selections. Two of which were written by the conductor himself, with one written specifically for the festival. The students were given the opportunity to come up with the title of the composed piece, which by popular vote, is ‘Mirror Lake Majesty.’  During their participation in the weekend event, the students also learned  about composing, conducting and the Vermont National Guard Band. The performance, held Sunday afternoon at the Lake Placid Performing Art Center, was a great success.
