Prescription Drug Take Back Day Scheduled for April 26
On Saturday, April 26, the public will have the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. In Vermont, bring your pills for disposal, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to: the Manchester Police Department, 6041 Main St., Manchester Center; the Winhall Police and Rescue, 113 VT Route 30, Bondville; the Bennington Police Department, 118 South Street, Bennington; or CVS Pharmacy, 8 Kocher Drive, Bennington. Hoosick, N.Y. residents are encouraged to bring their unused prescription drugs to the Hoosick Falls Village Police Department from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information, call 518-686-9050 or visit hayc3.org.
The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Be sure to black out any personal information that may appear on prescription bottles, such as your name or birth date. All prescription drugs and over-the-counter tablets and capsules will be accepted. No liquids or needles or sharps will be accepted; only pills or patches. All collected drugs will be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner.
