October 19 marks the date for this year’s official Vermont State Pumpkin Carving Day. The day will be celebrated in style once again with the eighth annual Pumpkin Carving Festival at the Equinox Valley Nursery, to benefit the Community Food Cupboard. The Manchester and the Mountains Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to join Equinox Valley Nursery in sponsoring this great event. This year’s festival includes perennial favorites: the Crazy Corn Maze, wagon rides, bounce house, witch’s hat decorating, pumpkin painting, face painting, scarecrow stuffing, cider donut eating contest, and other fun-filled activities. New this year will be a gathering of the Witches of Northshire. Witches in costume will broom in to Equinox Valley for their photo around the big cauldron at 1:30. They can also enjoy a two-for-one lunch at Gringo Jack’s on Main Street, or sweep into Orvis for a little shopping, with a $25 discount on purchases over $50.

The Equinox Valley Nursery courtyard will be filled with craft and farm market vendors.  NanZ and the Gourmet Café’ will once again be providing their delectable fare. Spaces are still available if an interested vendor would like to participate.

The highlight of the day will be the Costume Parade and Contest at 1, and Pumpkin Carving though out the day. Event hours are 11 to 4. Mark your calendars to come for a fantastic fall day and support the Community Food Cupboard, now serving more than 400 families in our community.
