Readsboro Arts Festival
The 2016 Readsboro Arts Festival is an annual event that highlights the creative output of the many artists and crafts people in the region. The festival, which presents work for display and sale, will take place on Saturday, September 10, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Over 20 vendors will be set up in the gymnasium of Readsboro Central School at 301 Phelps Lane in Readsboro. They include a host of talented artisans from Readsboro and western Massachusetts, who will be displaying a wide variety of crafts and fine art: glasswork, hooked rugs, jewelry, paintings, photography, quilts and woodworking to name a few. There will also be activities for children and live music with Skip and Laraine Morrow, Blueberry Buckle and The Jeanine Marie Quartet. Lunch and dessert will be available.
Concurrent with the Arts Festival, Confluence, a gallery recently opened in the newly renovated Bullock Building on Main Street and a short walk from the festival, will be exhibiting juried works by artists from Readsboro and the surrounding area, including watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media, quilts, photography, turned wood and blown glass. An opening reception is planned for Friday, September 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. The show will be on view through October 16. For more information about both events, go to readsboroarts.org.
