Replica Quilt to be Unveiled

A replica quilt of one made by Susan B. Anthony when she was 15 years old will be unveiled at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 16, as part of the Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum’s birthday celebration for the human rights leader. The celebration will be held at the Adams Free Library, 92 Park Sreet in Adams, Mass. The event is co-sponsored by the Adams Historical Society, and is free and open to the public. Author and an America Quilter Society certified quilt appraiser, Marjorie Childers, will speak at the event.  The original 1835 quilt is fragile and in archival storage at the Rochester Museum and Science Center in Rochester, N.Y. The birthday event is the seventh that has featured local and national history and human rights authors and activists. A Federal-style house on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Birthplace was purchased in 2006 and restored.
