Revive Church to Host Event to Fund International Missions

Revive Church in Poultney will be celebrating local efforts in international missions at a dinner to be held on Wednesday, August 28, at 5 p.m. Guest Silas Ajnala, senior pastor and founder of Prayer House of God Church in Punjab, India, will speak on the life-changing impact support from local churches in Vermont has made in the poverty-stricken area of Punjab. His efforts in channeling support have resulted in establishing nine churches in different parts of Punjab, India. That support has come from local churches like Revive Church led by Pastor Derik Kerber, the Brick Church, pastors Tommy and Donna Santo Polo, Gateway Church and many other sources, including Proctor Elementary School.  Local support is recruited by Jim and Darlene Hetzel who personally bring goods to help the population establish businesses in some of the poorest areas of India and Africa. “Sewing machines and commercial baking equipment for business startups, and a recently completed clean water well are a couple of examples of how we have provided the means for these wonderful people to create a path to wellness and security,” according to pastor Jim Hetzel. “We do not preach about any religion. Our mission is just to show the love of God to everyone.”

’Love Has No Borders’ will include a full buffet dinner catered by Avellino’s; tickets are available for $20, with proceeds to go towards these efforts. For details, call  802-884-8233 or visit wearerevive.church.
